Confidence is key

It is so important for us to remember that we are who we are and we are beautiful. As fearfully made women we need to be proud of who we are and how we look. We cannot be ashamed  of ourselves because we think others look better than us. Sometimes we look at ourselves in the mirror and call ourselves all number of names, or we sit down and think about who we are and think we are failures. WRONG! 1. Different shapes, different sizes, different colours= BEAUTIFUL! 2. "Failure is an event not a person". Be confident in yourself because its an element of who you will become. Obviously do recognise the things you can improve on e.g. if you notice you can shed some weight, go to the gym, do exercise and eat right. But do not starve yourself and  knock yourself down. Or if you think your choice of hairstyles are not the best, use friends and the internet to improve your selection. But you being confident in yourself shows that you believe in yourself and your ability to become a better individual.

However, there is also a thin line between confidence and pride. Us ladies know when we're being proud lol! "no she's got nothing on me, I'm... and...and...! If you get your confidence from knocking someone else down, then you are not truly confident about yourself but instead probably threatened by others around you. Remember a confident woman identifies her strengths and weaknesses but is also able to appreciate the strength and weaknesses of others.

So ladies remember, a confident lady is a beautiful lady. Embrace your beauty and be proud of who you are.

If I don't, who will??!

So this morning I woke up and I was just reminiscing and all I could say was wow! I have come far. I am not saying that I have completely made it and I am perfect, but what I am saying is that I am not in the same place where I use to be a few years/months ago. Now that is something to celebrate and if I do not celebrate it, who will??!

Many of us put sooooo much pressure on ourselves and when we make some progress, we do not even acknowledge it because its not as big as we want it to be. Well as the saying goes, "its the little things that count" and they need to be praised because when all those little things come together, they make a big thing. Do not allow the bigger picture to decieve you in thinking until you have achieved it, you have not done anything. Its a journey that consists of many little steps which will eventually add up and make the big step! Its for you to constantly look back, appreciate the progress but also make note of improvements or further steps you can take to achieve your goal.

So myself and the rest of the FMwomen team are congratulating you because you are on a journey of becoming a successful and beautiful woman. There are going to be trying times and crying times but there are also going to be happy times and times of laughter. There are also going to be times where you will fall and make mistakes but because of the strong woman you are, you will surely arise, dust yourself and continue striving for the best. So continously appreciate and celebrate yourself for the progress you make knowing that you are constantly moving towards your bigger picture. There is only one of you so you can be the best of you.

You deserve to be celebrated

Do not give up!

We have all faced different situations and see life in different perspectives. Regardless of what has happened, you are still here meaning there is still hope for you to live out your dreams. Do not be dismayed by what life throws at you but instead be encouraged.

Do not give up!

Alone is lonely

Many times when we want to do things, we find it so hard to trust people so we keep it all to ourselves and try to do everything alone. In most cases, doing this limits growth and this makes us want to give up because we feel like failures. One thing I’ve learned is that being alone is lonely. For obvious reasons there are some dreams and visions that we must keep in confidence, however asking others who have done what you want to embark on or who are doing something similar, can be of great help. You might not tell all or any of them your exact plans, but you are asking questions, learning from their mistakes and it also opens your mind to see things from a different perspective. As the saying goes “no man is an Island”. It is so important we remember that. If not you’ll feel drained and overweighed by your dream and vision and you will eventually give up.
In some cases, your dream cannot be manifested by you alone so you need to find a reliable team to help you bring it to life. Again, look for others who have put a team together or even those who are trying to and maybe you can exchange advise and get some tips on how to go about it. You can learn so much by networking and talking to others. Imagine Martin Luther King Jr kept his dream in confidence and never told anyone?! We will definitely be saying something different today. Remember you were given the dream so others can see the reality of it.

I can because I am..

Life never ceases to amaze me
Different days, different situations
But I have the power
I have the power to look at these situations and take them head on
I have to the power to ensure that through me, dreams are made a reality
I don’t just want to live, I want to be different
I don’t just want to be different, I want to cause a difference
I ask myself is this possible?
Rosa was able to make a difference by simply sitting down on what she believed in
Kang Tongbi saw a problem in China and walked the journey to make it right
They are part of the many women who have lead the way
Now its my turn. Your turn. our turn
But it starts from within
From us believing in ourselves and not in what others say
Its more than just listening or thinking it, but living it mentally and physically
Knowing that I am in control of what my life becomes
Its up to me to decide whether I just want to be another woman
Another woman who had so much potential but failed to realise or act upon
Another woman who never saw the true beauty that she was blessed with
Another woman who was born, who lived, who died and is now forgotten
I need to believe in the power of my dreams
I need to believe in the power of my potential
Never will I let someone tell me I can’t
I can because I am...

Beauty

I woke up this morning and was getting ready. I did my hair and was putting on some makeup- nothing heavy. As I was applying it, I asked myself can I go out without makeup and the answer was yes but then I thought not everyone can say that. There are some of us females that will NOT leave the house unless we have makeup on; they believe makeup makes them beautiful and allows them to be noticed by others. I disagree! I love makeup and I’m an aspiring makeup artist however, the truth is that makeup adds to the beauty you have already. It allows certain features to be enhanced but if you did not have such features in the first place, there will be nothing to enhance.
It's important to also remember that being beautiful is not only a physical thing- its also on the inside; many people are more focused about who you are as suppose to how you look. The way you look may attract individuals to want to know you but who you are will define the extent to which people want your presence, advise etc in their lives.  By no means am I saying do not wear makeup but ensure you’re mindset is right; do not be controlled by your foundation or eyelashes.   Your smile is a great feature that is noticeable without the aid of makeup. So smile because you can! With or without makeup ladies remember you are beautiful and keep aspiring to stay beautiful.
Never define who you are by man-made products because when they are out of stock, that means you are out of life- Mary Osho

A woman's dream

I look around and see how favoured I am
Through the ups and downs of life, I'm still here
So now I can only aim high and dream big
But with great power comes great responsibility
So I must guard my dreams and treat it like a baby
Carry it on the inside and eventually give birth to it
Nurture it and watch it grow
It's not going to be easy but I can do it
I'm a young powerful woman with unlimited potential

So as I look at life straight in the eye
I say bring it on
I only have to endure hardship for while
But through it all I'm inspired
By the success of those before me and around me
Many women have carved the way allowing me to now walk the path
So now I'm inspiring to blossom successfully and beautifully
A woman's dream

Because I am a woman, I must make unusual efforts to succeed.  If I fail, no one will say, "She doesn't have what it takes."  They will say, "Women don't have what it takes."  ~Clare Boothe Luce
